From our lakeside campground site, we got up at the crack of dawn, about 6:30 a.m. It was a beautiful morning with a slight fog on the lake. We washed up and packed up and were on the road by 7:30.
We rode to Barry's Bay and stopped at Dixie Lee Chicken for breakfast. All the locals were having breakfast there and we met a few couples on bikes that were travelling out west. One couple from Virginia, were on their way to Alaska. They had a goldwing with a small cargo trailer. They were not camping as he was 69 years of age and she was 63. They had their share of camping and said they deserve sleeping in hotels versus a tent or camper. Their friends from New York, were travelling along with them to Thunder Bay, along the north shore of Superior and were then heading back thru the states.
We filled up in Barry's Bay and headed down Hwy 60 towards Ottawa. We stopped for a few minutes in Eganville where there is a scenic walking bridge over the Madawaska River. From there, we continued on Hwy 60 until we hit Hwy 17 and rode into Kanata to Mark & Jenn's home. Ella cooked up some hot dogs for us and we just monkeyed around with our bikes and gear as it was too hot to do much else.
Tomorrow, we will bike around the Ottawa area and the Gatineau Hills before going to the Eagles concert.
Below is a picture of Ella Boston cooking us some hotdogs
